These photos are Joan and I doing the "traditional" pre-wedding photo show. You get dressed up in fancy gear, spend a lot of time (if you're Joan) being made up to look (more) beautiful, and then even more time being photographed in scenic spots around town. The previous visit to Qingdao, we saw hordes of people doing this, scurrying over the beach in cumbersome dresses, and laughed at how funny they looked. This wedding trip; it was the first thing we did!

The final photo shows Nick being prepared for his modelling debut, wearing what was about the least objectionable suit he could find at the costume shop, much to the disgust of the costume lady, who preferred him in lurid silk.
