Jellybean at 19 Weeks

A few weeks ago, we went for Jellybean's second scan. The official reason was to check amniotic fluid, and make sure all his (more about that later) bits were OK. The REAL reason was to find out if Jellybean was a boy or a girl, so we can come up with a better name than "Jellybean". And guess what, it's a BOY!

In what might be a bad sign of things to come, Jellybean wasn't keen on co-operating much at all. He had his head stuck down in Joan's pelvis ( a nice place to stick one's head!), and Joan had to jump up and down to wriggle him free. This is not easy to do with a full bladder, and a few kilos of baby on the belly, particularly if you have to hold all the urine in at the same time. Somehow, Joan managed (I think the trick is not to laugh too much).

Thus, we got some photos. He's a shy bloke (like his father), which is perhaps understandable, as the grandparents were there too. Bloody tourists!

The first photo shows his feet (yes really), the next two are profile shots, and the last one of this series shows his hands. he's clapping along, doubtless thinking of the Bruce Springsteen his Dad played through Mum's tummy earlier in the week.
